*Sigh* I love this song.  Madonna, Matthew Modine, the 80s....what more could you ask for?  Just feeling nostalgic on a rainy Wednesday.

Oh, Technology. Thou Art A Cruel Beast.

I love music.  No, really, I mean I LOVE music.  I cannot fathom a world without it.  I would rather have music and no t.v. for the rest of my life, even though I'm a gal who loves me some cable.  So, it was with great sorrow that I discovered that the hard drive that held my 20 gigs of music has died.  Oddly enough, I was not surprised. 

Why, you ask?  Because most electronic devices have it in for me.  I swear, I can have my computer completely lock up and refuse to reboot, no matter what I try.  Then, my husband (the IT guy) comes over and merely looks at the damn thing and suddenly it's purring under his touch.  My bad luck is not limited to computers, either.  Cell phones, radios, appliances....you name it, it hates me.

My only saving grace is that I have the complete list of my music on i*Tunes.  Even though I can no longer play the music (since the software cannot access the hard drive that had the music files on it), I at least know what was lost, so that once Jake replaces the hard drive, I can start uploading again.  Luckily, I have most of my music on CDs, and I only had them on i*Tunes so I could upload them on my i*Pod.  Everything else, well, we won't talk about how I get those.

Soooo, that brings me to another (related) point, since I'm having to replace my music, I thought I'd add some new stuff in there as well.  Are there any songs, artists, or bands you recommend I try?  Suggestions are appreciated!

Each morning as I drive to work, I find myself scanning through the stations, trying to find something to pep me up until I can caffeinate myself at the office.  Happily, this morning, I was not disappointed.  As the opening notes to "Pour Some Sugar On Me" flowed out of my speakers, I couldn't help myself from reaching over to turn my volume up to "max".
